Can one woman change the course of history?

Peace has reigned across the Galaxy for over two centuries, and no one can believe that such an accomplishment nears an end. However, as dreadnoughts muster in the capital of the Earth Empire and threaten her home nation of the Coalition, Sophia Trotsky finds herself at the dawn of war. Armed with the belief that she can make a difference, the young naval intelligence officer finds herself a front-line combatant–where history cannot be made by one person alone.

When the bombs and shells drag minutes into hours, what truly is important becomes the only source of light beneath the shadow of war.

Sofia, a young Naval Intelligence Officer uncovers a secret invasion fleet from the evil Earth Empire. Her superiors don’t believe her until it is too late. The ensuing war ends the lives of millions of people from both sides. Sofia and a few others manage to escape the initial attack, on the moon base where she was stationed, to the planet below. The parties chances of survival are slim, yet they endure escaping near catastrophes all along the way. The action is non-stop, the struggle to survive intense. A page turner to be sure.

interesting, and well written. Left me with some questions about the worlds involved. I’ll definitely read more of the series.

This book is a really solid military sci-fi read that pulls you in fast and doesn’t let go. It does a great job mixing big space battles with personal struggles, making it feel both huge and really personal at the same time. Sophia Trotsky’s journey is intense, watching her go from an idealistic inteligence officer to someone fighting just to survive was both heartbreaking and inspiring.

The action is exciting, but what really stands out is how much depth there is to the charaters. The story does not just focus on the war itself but on the emotional and psychological toll it takes. The relationships, both friendships and romantic ones, add another layer, though sometimes they felt a bit too front and center in the middle of all the chaos.

The pacing is fast and the world-building is cool, though I kinda wish there was a glosary in the book itself. Still, the mix of intense battles and strong character moments makes this an awesome read. Definitely worth checking out.
